oldest handheld console you ever had
As the topic suggest, please post your's including:

1. your favourite game with it
2. at what age that time you had it
3. how did you feel about it
4. optionally, how it got trashed or gone (if don't have it anymore)

I got a GameBoy Pocket when I was 6 years old, given by an old friend..

The only game I only had chance to play that time was Pokemon Red and Blue

It was so wonderful at that time even though it got no colours Laugh

But, on one unfortunate day, when I came back from school, my mom said she accidentally stepped on it and the screen got broke so she just thrown it away...Sad

RE: oldest handheld console you ever had
Well I was born back when my country had socialism and was under "mother russia" eyes and arms;P, soo my first will possibly be the crappiest of anything that could be shown here unless somebody played games on calculator or other potato @_@ :

I dunno even if the "console" had any name, each of it had different game, through looked similar and to play other game you simply had to buy different handheld "console" with it.;] I had like 2-3 of them at most, but traded with friends for others couse the games were getting awfully boring after time, the one with the wolf collecting eggs was actually more "advanced" couse it had whole FOUR buttons to control... I still wouldn't call it favourite, guess TV and consoles weren't really soo common and popular in my early childhood anyway, our fun stuff usually didn't involved any electricity:]. The first games I enjoyed watching on screen were probably at SNES or some commodore 64(on tapes;P), but none of that I would call console and only multi-player games were fun. (Those were strange times when people actually were doing more things together than just chatting over net and saying they're too lazy to meet @_@)

RE: oldest handheld console you ever had
Game boy Color "It's spelled COLOUR, DAMMIT!" was my first handheld. Don't remember how old I was.

The games were Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Silver, and Pokemon Gold. (Man, variety is awesome.)

Unfortunately, Pokemon Silver and Gold, arguably the slickest GC games ever made, have a lamearse battery-powered save system which invariably fails after a few years. I replaced the batteries, and then they failed again shortly afterwards. @_@

I have an anectdote about Pokemon Blue burning up inside. I figured out a bug in the game all by myself: it was a variation on the Safari glitch, but with the added twist of jumping down from somewhere on the step which triggered the 'return to Safari Zone' event. (Every time you moved in Safari mode, an invisible timer counted down incrimentally.) Your character would freeze in midair, and weird characters would replace their shadow. Then you would find yourself back at entrance to Safari Zone with physics disabled. You could either walk behind the front desk and save, making the game unfinishable, or you could walk off the map, crashing the game.

I tried sending my amazing bug to one of those big cheat sites, but got ignored. @_@

Oh, and the unit still works. It's sitting in a drawer.

I have a red GameBoy Pocket. It still works perfectly and my favourite game was Donkey Kong Land. Unfortunately, due to unknown reasons, it... vanished. I don't really know what the heck happened. Last time I remember to have played it, I left it on a table at my house. Don't remember seeing it ever again. There was also another game I liked a lot, whose title I do not know because it was, I think, written in either Chinese or Japanese, that disappeared. No idea why, though. It was a side-view shooter like R-Type, only we controlled a flying man and not a spaceship. The sticker on the case showed a guy in red fighting some green dragons.

One of my cousins had an original GameBoy, though. And tons of games, including a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one I loved to play and another one with a templar-like knight and, I think, some dragon. Don't remember the name of the game, though.

if you are actually telling this to me it is actually I used American English.. thats why instead of saying colour I said color.. AND the same thing happens as the word favourite..which in American English is favorite...

Oh, I wasn't referring to what you'd said. It was just an annoying attribute of the Gameboy Color. I grew up confused how colour was technically supposed to be spelt.

So no, I wasn't attacking you. We cool?
