pcsx2 -r1888 beta won't run
#1
Hi,

I wanted to try out pcsx2-r1888 beta version, to see if it runs any faster than pcsx2 0.9.6, but when I try to launch r1888 beta, it gives me an error popup:

"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

What's causing this problem, and how do I correct it? Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, I wasn't given any configuration options during installation, so I don't know how to reconfigure it.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

Hey, thanks for that - it did the trick. I had installed it before, as per instructions, but I guess for some reason it didn't work. Doing it again made it work.

Yeah, this beta r1888 seems to work more smoothly for me on my P4 3.06Ghz with 512MB RAM.
Heh, every little bit helps.

So does interlace mode provide a speedup by reducing the CPU load? If so, then which type of interlace should I go with? What about settings for resolution? Should I assume that lower-res will give me a higher frame rate, or is "native" the best way to go?

No interlace has no effect on speed. Internal resolution is as you said, higher resolution brings more load to your graphics card and vice versa. The lowest and fastest setting would be using native
