some quick question...

why does the coders use aliases? Is it just to make them cool or is it something like rules to the coders that says they cannot expose their real identity?

Why do you use an alias. Sharing your real name on the internet can have unforeseen consequences, so most people do not care to share that kind of information.

i think you should read some articles about internet security rosli, this place is for people with common sense, one false move and your computer will block itself and will start spawning windows with porn sites and will play "I AM WATCHING GAY PORN!" sound at max volume ( true story BTW ). And this is just one of the lesser threats, your email account could get hacked, your pay cards could get stolen, people often have important stuff on their computer and they dont protect it at all. They use easy password that can get guessed by easy bruteforce + dictionary, or they set dumb "security questions" for password recieval like "who was my first love" or "where did i study". With google its not realy hard to get those informations, especialy with all the facebook-like sites. Also use more than 1 password, many websites dont even encrypt your password and they can see it at all times.
Some other people are even dumber than that, they use p2p that require them to share certain amount of data so they share their WHOLE HARD DRIVES with all the files that store passwords to programs like comunicators or e-mail clients. Also if somethings is uploaded into internet, IT NEVER DISAPEARS. It can get deleted from certain websites, but there always is a copy and copy of copy and copy of copy. Thats why its dangerous to post any real information about yourself on the internet, sometimes it can get used against you. Another thing, viruses - times when viruses was designed by wannabe hacker kids to destroy your system are long gone, people write things basicaly to steal information.
Check my profile for hardware/software and games i played on PCSX2.

yes, but there are a few of those still floating around. I'm glad however blaster is long gone, that was a royal pain, that one, specifically was just a destroyer tool. as well, your definition of a virus is just a tad flawed. what people use to steal information is a trojan, there are not many viruses floating the net, it's all trojans now

They don't all hide their names, they just don't use their names for their usernames on the forum. For example, Air doesn't hide his real name. Some people are just more private and secure than others.
