Right... That C2D willl overclock easily to 3.5GHZ.. Go do that.
The 9600GT's fine, it's better than a frigging ATI 3850 to whoever suggested a 3850/4770 (Hell, a 4770's not MUCH of an improvement)
/Anger at people at stupid suggestions..

But as we all know, the 8800GT (GPU) is still used in cards today, the 9800GT... They're one and the same..
It's a good GPU...

don't know about 3850 but 4770 is performance wise compared with 9800gtx or GTS250 so don't go compare it to a 9600, and it can overclock to a performance between 4850 and 4870.

The 9600GT is *almost* as fast a 9800GT, the 4770 is better than a 9800GT/4830, but worse than a 4850/GTS250/9800GTX..
So it's pointless upgrading to something only 1 higher up.
Oh.. And overclocking wise, you're wrong.... The 4770 overclocked is still worse than a 4850.. But barely.... Maybe game dependant.

4770 is very close to 4850, against gts250 it only loses to nvidia special games and 4850 loses in that games too, it is power saving and cooler too, about overclock just check guru3d.
"The reality is that with our overclock we have been able to push overall performance 15~20% on top of the Radeon HD 4770 baseline performance. And in the world of graphics cards, that's just an awfully nice extra. It makes the card a good amount faster than the Radeon HD 4850, and it actually closes in on the Radeon HD 4870."
