the sims bustin out black screen after splash screen

i hope someone here can help me out.  im new to pcsx2 and im not sure in im doing something wrong but every time i try to play the sims bustin out it goes as far as the splash screens for the game then goes to black with no audio.  im getting an unknown dev9 messgae in the logs
