what am i doing wrong? (slow speeds)
#1
I'm getting slow speeds with most games (the only game that seems to work at normal speed is "DBZ Budokai 3").

My specs are:
I5 750 @ 2.66 (not oc)
Sapphire ATI 5850 Toxic
4 gb ddr3 ram
on XP Pro SP3

For example, in 'Tekken 5' i always get 60fps at the beginning shooter thing and the menus but as soon as the actual fight starts, it goes down to 40fps. Same with 'SSX 1' and "super dbz". Graphic plugins i tried are Gsdx 890 SSE2\3\4 , ZeroGS 0.97.1 and ZZ OGL, all of them with the same results. Tried GSdx9 but i caused me constant VPU recover errors. Also, trying to set the cpu settings in pcsx2 to "always skip frames" (setting the thing to 9999) makes no noticeable difference.

any ideas?

PCSX2 settings? plugin settings? (screenshots preferred) What do the EE/GS % numbers say when you get the slowdowns?

Try the latest beta if you aren't already:

I have:
CPU: amd phenom II X2 545 processor 3.0Ghz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT 512 MB
Ram: 4GB DDR2

I have your same problem.. that's why tekken 5 is a VEEEEEERY intensive game which needs a strong CPU. I reach 60 fps turning on all speedhacks (DO NOT MARK "mVu Min/Max Hack" it is known to crash tekken 5). Anyway the game will be laggy but if you really want to play it that bad on your pcm I'm sure it will be okay.
Obviously keep you resolution to native or 1260x1260 (max resolution you can utilize without those annoying vertycal lines).
If you need my pcsx2 settings for Tekken 5 just ask me and I'll post them. Hope i helped Smile

yea, 0.9.7 seems to be faster (SSX is still slow, tho =\). thanks

Using DX10 instead of DX 9 might give you a speed boost to. Tekken seems CPU limited so it might not be large in that game though.

Overclocking will help you greatly

My cpu fan is lame (i'm getting ~70c at load already), so OC is out of the question...
