Everything at default with just the recommended speedhack turned on should do. (Using GSdx graphics plugin, hardware mode. Start with native reso and work your way up till your FPS drops below 60).
CPU: i7 930 @ 2.8GHz(Everyday)/3.6GHz(Gaming)/4.0GHz(Encoding)
GPU: Geforce GTX 480 @ 850MHz/1001MHz
Motherboard: ASUS P6X58D-E
RAM: 2x3 6GB OCZ @ 1527MHz 8-8-8-24

also is my cpu capable of sse3 or sse4 because the emulator reports my hardware not being able to do those instructions?
i have just attempted your suggestion and played soul calibur 3
but i get 43fps and black vertical lines on the screen!Huh
i have just found in the console that it fails to save my configuration settings. heres the info:

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling to another folder like c:\pcsx2

And try not to make multiple posts (especially when your last post wasn't long ago...) , just edit your last post.

Run pcsx2.exe as Administration (right click > Run as Administrator).

As to the part about GSdx reporting your CPU not supporting SSE3 and SSE4 instruction set...

x86 Features Detected:
MMX.. SSE.. SSE2.. SSE3
MMX2 .. 3DNOW .. 3DNOW2.. SSE4a

I see SSE3 listed, so I think SSE3 would work. SSE4a is not the same as SSE4(if I remember correctly), so SSE4 wouldn't work. As to the black vertical bars, some games hate upscaling (running at higher than native resolution on GSdx) and creates black vertical lines. It happens in a lot of games. Just run it at native resolution if you run into games that does this. (or play with the lines)

GSdx requires SSSE3 not SSE3 (yes, the extra S is a different instruction set....)

Actually, its SSSE3, so we're both wrong. LOL. Nways, I guess I need to count the S's more carefully next time.

when i run the sse3 version of gsdx it still says my cpu is not capable of this instruction also i deleted my pcsx2 emulator and the games inside lol

No idea why you downloaded 0.9.6. It's slower, has lower compatibility and all around worse Tongue
