which one should I choose?

I just want to ask, which (wait for it) musical instrument should I choose Tongue

I'm between my stepfather's piano, which is over 30 years old, and no-one has ever played on it (FOR 30 YEARS!) and a violin.

The piano is located somewhere in Athens, and it costs 150 euros to bring it here, and another 50-100 euros to repair it, while a brand new violin costs around the same. I'm kinda experienced with the piano, but I have never played violin before, but I have the will to learn how to play, just like I did with the piano. I have a very small keyboard, which I could actually use it to learn songs to play on the violin. I will also be able to bring the violin with me when I'm going to Bulgaria. (You may say, buy a keyboard, which is portable as well... but I really hate keyboards!)

The reason I'm posting this thread is because I love these instruments both equally, and I don't know which one should I choose! Any help?

well.. somehow.. you are right! Tongue but really, my mom promised to bring the piano when the school's finals are done, and then, few days ago, she told me: Do you want the violin instead? because it is smaller and you can bring it with you wherever you go, wherever you want and blah blah blah...

OMG! MOM! YOU NOW GOT ME THINKING! Ohmy (Tongue)

Your sig seems to be making a suggestion however.
I really can't speak for music in the balkans/greece area but for english/scottish/irish folk music violin is definately used a lot more.

Just depends where and what sort of music your playing, if your doing classical they're just as good as each other I guess.

Edit: and Devilscorner those breasts are rediculous.

Classical, dramatic music Smile

Edit: the reason I chose this pic as a sig, it's because the wallpaper looked amazing and better than the piano ones.

There are more pianists than violinists, well in the UK at least.
It's also much easier to get into an orchestra as a violinist.

well, I talked to my mother and she said that because of this particular time period, we may have to move to that house (because the house where we are living is rented) where the piano is staying. Thus it would be better than constantly paying a fortune to move the piano around. But it's ok.. I love violin, as much as I love piano. So any moderator can close this thread now, unless if you want me to make this thread to a music discussion thread Tongue
