why software mode can't use custom resolution or scaling? any possible in the future(next version)???

The custom resolution is practically a hack and not part of the ways the real PS2 works, thus why it won't ever be part of the software rendering.

A couple reasons....

#1: As mentioned above, Software mode is all about ACCURACY. PS2 did not render above native resolution, rendering above native is part of the reason why hardware mode has so many graphical issues (ghosting, random lines, other graphical glitches).

#2: Rendering scales linearly in software mode. That is, if you wanted to do 2x native... you'd be looking at roughly 4x as much processing power. Software mode is already painfully slow on even the best processors. Splitting the work between more cores has diminishing returns past 2-3 so that won't help either.
