I'm going to buy a new computer next month and I want to get a powerful one that can emulate almost everything at full speed, so my question is - which are the best video card and processor out there now?
core i7 extreme 975 with GTX295. i would personally wait just a month more or so for the new radeon 5870 HD and put those in crossfire

it all comes down to this. what is your budget?

I can afford to spend about 1600-1700$...
then i'd definitly wait for the 5870HD wich should technicly be as fast (at least thats what ati says) as an 4870x2 and with directx 11 whilst being a single GPU card

imagine those 2 in a crossfire Smile
and get an i7 920 / i5 750 since the i5 has proven to be very good for gaming (results show better scores at stock than 920 at stock)
Well since I was in a rush and I had a budget to upkeep, this is what I got:

Intel Core i7 -920
NVidia GeForce GTX 260
6 GB RAM DDR3
1000GB HDD
Windows Vista 64-bit

Btw, I like it Tongue
Perfect choice.
