I tried all posible controller settings, read the FAQ and 2 pages of search results here, but the game Ratchet and Clank 3 doesn't respond to my keyboard in any way.
I run windowsXPhome and am logged in as administrator.
Any ideas?
Uhm, show us your current configuration to see if anything is off, I'd suggest you use the Lilypad plugin and dont forget to configure both the d-pad and analog sticks as some games need them.
Perhaps try right clicking the PCSX2 icon and Run as admin.
run as admin is vista/win7 feature.
Oh whoops, somehow missed he was using XP...
hmm I don't know exactly how I did it, but it's almost working. Only the square won't work
triangle, circle and other keys are all working -as far as I know- but the square doesn't do anything.. I tried setting another key for it but that doesn't work either.

You have square assigned to 2 keys and cross isnt assigned, I'd try removing one of those square assigned or just remaking that config.
oh yea didn't see it! the config works now
