Thanx
I wanna play games like Persona 3, Persona 4, FFX, FFXII, Mana Khemia 2, Gundam Generation Wars, SRW, etc BTW
I am pretty sure you can run Persona 3, FFX, FFXII, Mana Khemia 2, Gundam Generation Wars. I played Persona 4 in ps2 and I don't have SRW, so I don't know how exactly they perform in pcsx2.
the processsor should be able of doing it, i have the 555 which is mostly like it but with 100mhz more @stock speed, im not sure if stockspeed would be enough since i overclocked it to 3,8 ghz, but i would think it would be fine for rpgs as is. your graphiccard is slightly worse than mine so it should also be fine.
you can play SRW at near good speed meanwhile FF and personas are pretty demanding needs an Intel's CPU.
I haven't bought those parts yet. Still using a P4 = (

What should I buy to run everything super smoothly (for around < $500)
Well. Maybe Pentium DualCPU (Dual Core) and OC it to 3.2GHz ++
RAM 1GB is enough , use the higher clock of the ram , recommend 800, don't use 667
for Video Card, u can't be possibly get the best one, not the mid-range also, so i suggest buy nvidia 8400 gs.
But i think u will short on budget. $500 is way too little. (sorry no offense mean)
I see a C2D e8400 on newegg for $168. I've read that's a good one.

Also, there's GeForce 8800 GT for $99 or 9600 GT for $109. Those are good.

That's well under $500 for the two major components. RAM isn't all that important. 2gb should be more than enough. PCSX2 only uses like 200mb or something. I'm not too sure on mobo's, but I know the cpu (e8500 and e8600 are even better) and gpu(s) I mention are what I see suggested on the forums here a lot.

I personally have a GeForce 230M (mobile). I know comparing mobile to desktop isn't simple, but with the results I have, I'd think the 220 would be OK, too. That with my C2D 2.8Ghz provides great playability of most of my games (That includes many RPGs). And the new betas/plugins continue to show improvments. Smile

And don't forget, some dual cored CPUs are better than others. "Dual Core" then "Core Duo" then "Core 2 Duo". I can't necessarily speak of PCSX2, but I know someone with a "Dual Core" 3.0Ghz and it seems slower than my P4 3.0Ghz HT. I would think 2 physical threads would best 2 logical threads, but I have read the "Dual Core" was the first attempt at two cored CPUs and was kinda "slapped together".

U got the same point with me. My P4 HT is more powerful than my Dual-Core.
...in case you still don't get it. Pentium 4 < Pentium 4 HT < Pentium Dual Core < Core Solo < Core 2 Duo < Core i5/i7.
This means that even if for example a Pentium 4 HT is at 3 Ghz and a Core 2 Duo is at 3 Ghz, the Core 2 Duo will be way faster than the Pentium 4 HT due to improved architecture.
That's the way it is for every application, including PCSX2.
