my problem isn't spicifically about PCSX2 but about my computer, it fails to read the disc, it makes a bit of noise (like the compy is 'trying' to read it) but then it stops and it wont turn up on my (E
drive.
Can anyone help?
My computer is a ASUS M51Sn laptop
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T9300 2.50GHz
2 GB RAM
Running Vista Ultimate
I can see 3 possibilities.
1. Your disc is broken.
2. You drive is broken.
3. Your drive does not support the disc format of your game.

1. My disc isn't broken because it still works in the PS2
2. My drive still functions with other discs (though L4D2 didn't read either)
3. I dont know if that's the problem, should be able to read DVD-ROMs shouldn't it?
yes your drive works but that doesnt mean it works as it should... better replace it, even the best out there are very cheap

cant replace laptop drive, could it just be to do with drivers
drivers have 99% nothing to do with this (still you can update your chipset drivers cause those may have something to do only with that), maybe you need a firmware update for the drive

just then i discovered that since reinstalling windows that my dvd drive doesn't have a region selected for it
right now imma make my compy region free like it was actually before

nup, still doesn't work
well if you did what i said and nothing happened then you must find a way to replace the drive
GT4 is far too demanding of a game to run from the dvd. Burn an iso and use that. If your dvd drive is in fact damaged and you can't burn an iso you should look around for a cheap external usb dvd drive.
