I was looking at the compatibility list and was wondering what the region "G" is.

I know:
J=Japan
E=Europe
U=America
G=???

Is it Australia? Or Atlantis or something like that.

G=German

But isn't Germany part of europe?

Yes but PAL(Europe)can be Multi language or only one language...one game with all languages or couple of versions,each one with different language(FFX PAL for example)
