Hi. I'm new here and have a couple of questions. I would like to try and get Gran Turismo 4 working on my computer but i'm completely new to emulator stuff other than getting a rom for the lion king a few years ago for nostalgia's sake . Firstly, I'm not particularly technical (so sorry if these questions are a bit retarded) and I'm not entirely sure if my comp will actually run it. I had a look at the requirements and it looks like it might but then it does say laptops might struggle and also i can't see my graphics card in the list. Spec is below:

Toshiba Satellite Pro L300D (Vista 32 bit)
AMD Athlon X2 Dual core 1.9GHz
2gb RAM
ATI Radeon 3100
only about 9gb HDD space left if that's a problem

(this is what i mean by not being very technical, I don't even know if that's everything that i need to check)

If it does work, how do i go about getting things up and running? Is the a newbie guide on here somewhere? i had a quick look but couldn't see one. How does the emulator work? Do i need the GT4 disc to play (i do have one so it wouldn't be a problem but just curious)? Am I getting myself in a bit deep here or is it actually quite easy once you know what you're doing? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

GT4 is one of the most demanding games.
with that weak CPU/GPU, you won't get far, I'm affraid ...

When you say not going to get very far, is it just not going to work at all or will it be playable but just not very good?

I'd say so slow that it won't be playable

well GT4 with your hardware will not be playable at all, maybe in some least demanding games youll get like 40 flps with all speed hacks, but i would call that playable.

Ok well thanks for the help anyway. Maybe I'll be back sometime when i've got a better computer

Major thread necro here but been struggling to find a racing game I actually like so remembered this again. I'm now running i5 2.3GHz (2.9GHz with turbo boost whatever that actually means), 4GB DDR3 and an Nvidia GT 540M 1GB gfx card. How will GT4 fair on that?
