Full Version: How well would GTA:LCS and VCS run?

First, emulation has always fascinated me, and I truly appreciate your hard work (especially after my failed attempt to make a NES emulator years ago).

Now, LCS and VCS are the only GTAs I haven't played. I don't have and can't buy a (working) PS2 (I have a broken PS2 somewhere, though, handily fulfilling any legal requirement there may be for me to own one to use PCSX2). Since there don't seem to be any mature PSP emulators yet, it looks like the PS2 versions and PCSX2 are my best bet.

System specs:
Athalon II X2 255 CPU (Dual core, 3.1GHz)
4GB RAM
Radeon HD 5770 GPU (1GB VRAM)
Windows 7 64-bit

My searching indicated that these games are particularly demanding. Is it likely they'd run at an enjoyable FPS without major glitches?

EDIT: Also, it might be important to note that it'd be the PAL version, since I'm in the UK.
It should work fairly well.
They are playable for me with my intel Mac Mini 2010 and my specs are slightly lower than yours.

Cool, thanks! Two things: Do you know the average framerate you get, and are you using the PAL or NTSC version?
I average around 37 FPS. Both of my games are PAL.
you want 50-60 i thought for a smooth game. 37 seems like it would be choppy still.

Awesome, thanks again!

Not really. It depends on the game, but San Andreas is locked to 25 by default, and that always felt smooth to me.
