Hi, How do I set up PCSX2 so it runs properly on my PC?

My PC Specs are as follows:-

Operating System
MS Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2
CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 @ 2.00GHz 58 °C
Conroe 65nm Technology
RAM
3.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 332MHz (5-5-5-15)
Motherboard
Dell Inc. 0RY007 (Socket 775) 40 °C
Graphics
Generic PnP Monitor (1440x900@60Hz)
256MB Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (Dell)
Radeon X1300/X1550 Series Secondary (Dell)

Everytime I use PCSX2, it runs pretty slow on some games, and the sound is like its in slow motion, can anyone help me set it up?

that CPU is phased-out now even OCing that thing won't help neither.
time to get the 2nd gen intel-i now.
also GPU is also phased-out get the Ati HD68??~above.

So there isn't any plugins i can use to try and speed things up?

What about an E8500/E8600 CPU?
Unfortunately the E4400 is insufficient to run PCSX2 at reasonable speeds.
E8500/8600 with max oc 3.8-4.0 GHz can ran alot of games at good speeds however these CPUs are old and not recommended at this time.
You can get some lower-end sandy bridges i5 2300, 2400 ...etc with decent motherboard and a GTS 450/HD5770 at least and get some nice speeds out of PCSX2.
