Well, I decided to reinstall using the newest version from the website. Deciding to try out an old game I was pleased to note that other than the opening cutscene, which runs at half speed, the rest of the game runs perfectly. I did set a VU option to extra to see if that helped the cutscene and it was a no go. but the rest of the game runs gorgeously. If you want my settings i'll be glad to post them.
