@Tsusai : attached updated inf/cat with your hardware ids.

Regarding the service, runs fine on my Win 8 Pro x64 system without having to modify the account used. [see screenshot]. Did you run ScpDriver.exe by right clicking and "Run as Administrator" when you configured the Service?
The ScpMonitor.exe tool just connects to the Service (or Server) via a localhost UDP socket, and pings for information every 100ms.

@unvaluablespace : the good news is that you said your new DS3 connects to your Mac via Bluetooth without issue (correct?), so it's just a matter of finding out what extra setup is required for the a1 rev of the firmware. (looking around it looks like there is a b1 rev as well). I'll try to get into town over the weekend and see if I can find an a1/b1 version.

Note : run only ScpService (SCP DS3 Service) or ScpServer, not both.
The Bluetooth stack was written for the Prototype as a bare minimum implementation, for proof of concept. It was not intended to be a final solution.
Yes, I was going to point that out. What's more interesting is whatever the Mac does to make the newer revision work, I would assume apple hasn't done anything with the drivers since before the newer a1/b1 revisions. At least that's my impression. It doesn't do anything to the led lights however, as they continuously flash like the controller is still trying to pair, even though it obviously works in games and such. It did this same thing for all controllers.

One cool thing I would like to point out, is that because the controller gets paired to the same MAC address, because I dual boot both Mac and windows on my system, it automatically remembers the pairing for both sides. I assumed I would have to re-pair every Time I booted between OS's, so that was a nice surprise Smile
Scarlett,

Picked up a Rocketfish (Model: RF-MRBTAD) at my local best buy cuz it was on sale. It is a common bluetooth adapter here in the US that I know of (everywhere I look in my local cities usually only sells this particular adapter) so I figured we could test it for compatibilities sake. Also because the other adapter is a 4.0 adapter and I would like to use it as my regular adapter, and use the rocketfish as the isolated adapter for ps3 controllers. If you don't mind, could you please add these ID's to your driver profiles?

USB\VID_0461&PID_4D75&REV_0667
USB\VID_0461&PID_4D75

And I will try to test them out ASAP. I can use my test controllers again lol. Smile thanks.

If you'd like, I can look for a b1 revision of said controller. I noticed at best buy today they had ps3 controllers in yet another new blue packaging, slightly different from the packaging that came with my rev a1 controller. perhaps this new version contains a b1 revision as well? I was planning on picking up another ps3 controller anyway. Smile
Well, for me the driver installer stops with that at the last log lines:
INFO - Looking for Model Section [SCProductions.NTamd64]...
INFO - RETURN: DriverPackageInstallW (0xE000020B)

Install Failed. [E000020B]
rama, have you tried running with administrator privileges? I had that similar error. For me I made sure to right click the driver installer, and choose administrator. I also made sure motioninjoy was totally uninstalled, so if you have any other driver or program you used for your ps3 controller prior to attempting this, try uninstalling. when it comes to motioninjoy, even after it said it was succesfully uninstalled, i still found it had its own driver on my ps3 device, and also was still showing up in unstall programs under control panel. as a matter of fact, I had to actually reinstall motioninjoy, and uninstall from windows uninstall programs, because the motioninjoy programs uninstaller itself didn't uninstall properly. After I did all that, Scarlett's drivers worked like a charm. Smile

EDIT: I notice you are one of the pcsx2 developers. I feel silly for assuming you wouldn't already know about motioninjoy lol. Smile So perhaps you already tried those things. Btw, thanks for developing for pcsx2. Laugh You guys are doing great work. Im having fun playing my ps2 games on my gaming rig! haha.
I've made sure to get rid of anything interfering that I could think of, yea.
Thanks for the tips anyway Wink
@rama : can you post the full log. The last thing the installer tries to install is the DS3 USB driver, if your DS3 wasn't plugged in via USB you'll get that log [0xE000020B means device not found]. (if you were just updating the Bluetooth dongle driver then it doesn't matter).
Testing Feedback!
*) IOGear GBU421 BT2.1- USB\VID_0A5C&PID_2148&REV_0818
Flawless. Paired, Communicated. Noticed in Device Manager it's name changed to BCM92046DG-CL1ROM.

*) Atheros AR3012 BT4.0 - USB\VID_0CF3&PID_3004&REV_0001
Not sure if Paired. Controller did not register anymore with IOGear.
Controller was not detected (?).

*) General
Not sure what [Both] [Left] [Right] [Off] are for.

All in all, Keep the IOGear one since alot of those were sold over some years at Walmart and online. Ditch my Atheros from any future updates for now, because its just something built into my laptop that I just got, and not something one just buys off the shelf AFAIK.

Thanks for letting me try.
The "both" "left" and "right" buttons are for testing the vibration force feedback of the controller. Smile left will vibrate left motor, right vibrates right motor, both vibrates both motors.

Derp. No wonder I got nothing out of my sixaxis lol.
