That may work, but SCP-DS3-Driver-Package-1.0.0.103-Bth-Update-12.7z (attached) lists far more USB VID/PIDs.

Here's the diff:

right click on My Computer->Manage->Device Manager. Now following picture should give you the idea

Installation process is automatic, no need for manual intervention
Hey. Wondering if someone could help me with a problem. Everytime I run the installer and hit install, it says it's installing but it doesn't seem to do anything. (I have all the prerequisites and my controller plugged in but it still doesn't do anything.) I tried pressing uninstall but it literally just says

"
Uninstall Suceeded

-- Uninstall Summary-
"

And thats it... No idea whats going on because it worked perfectly fine on my PC on the first time. Also sorry if there is a dedicated support thread for this, I missed it if there is.

Installed, seems everything went alright but...its not recognizing the buttons. When I check up the controller's properties, to test the buttons and calibrate, it doesnt recognize any button. it is basically like the controller is connected but...it isnt.
also the installation says:
No matching devices found in INF "C:\Program Files (x86)\PS3 Controller\System\BthWinUsb.inf" on the Machine.

This line only matters if you want to connect via bluetooth. If you do your hardware id is probably not supported and your going to have to mess with the .inf files.
how do I mess around with the .inf files then?

I also tried with the official sony drivers but they arent working either.

Windows might be blocking the files, right click and open up the file details and unblock. There are 4 files you need to unblock.
So after spending way more time on this than I should have, I found a solution to my problem (and played my first game with a wirelessly).

Basically after I had added my bluetooth's hardware ID to the .inf files, that .inf file was no longer signed. Therefore, Windows 8 would not install (and did not tell me they would not install it until I tried to manually install it. damn bastards!). To get around this I had to turn off windows checking the signature. (video of how to at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM1MN8QZhnk for windows 8) Then I went into the systems folder, right clicked on bthwinusb and clicked install. A window popped up saying the inf file is unsigned and I said install anyway. Than I opened the installer (scpdrive.exe) checked forced install and pressed install. The controller and bluetooth then worked for me.

Sorry for rushed explaination. I am tired and feel accomplished which is the perfect mix for making me want to hit the hay. If anyone else is having similar trouble let me know and I'll be happy to help. For those that want to mess with there .inf files I might make a video or write a in depth post if there is interest. Or maybe I can just update the bthwinusb.inf with all the new hardware ID's and post it online.
