Last thing to try is a Pinhole Reset.

@Mkilbride: I downloaded Dead Souls from Steam, runs fine on my games machine using both DS3 and DS4.

@user_unknown: your controller is not a genuine Sony DualShock 3. Reports it's name as the following -

Code:

@Scarlet.Crush

Please excuse me if this question has been asked/answered, but why does it have to be a genuine PS3 controller, and do you plan on supporting any of the aftermarket ones? I have never liked the feel of the genuine ones, and have an aftermarket one that's much more comfortable. Plus, the real ones cost so much comparatively.. I much appreciate the work you have put into this project, you do great work! Thanks
Motioninjoy is..buggy and driverhell, so i decided to try this one out.

But i cant seem to get it to work.

Windows 8, followed the description, install was success.
the monitor don`t show the controller, and it shuts off when i plug it in now.

i am not aiming for bluetooth, since i don`t have a dongle, i just want it to work through usb.

Any help is very appreciated!

Hello, I am in a little pickle. I followed the instructions on the first page to install. First of all Pad 1 is recognized on my system and on SCP DS3 Monitor, however it does not work with games. When i plug in a second DS3 "Pad 2" that controller actually works and emulates a xbox controller correctly. I can switch the places in Pad 1 and Pad 2 in SCP DS3 monitor and only the Pad 2 will be working. Seems like the controller in the place of Pad 1 does not emulate the controller correctly even though its registered. By going into SCPuser it shows that pad 1 and pad 2 are responding to button presses. Also would like to report that when pressing the PS button on Pad 2 it registers as controller 1 on the PC. Dont know whats happening but both controllers are hooked via USB. Would there be a fix so i dont need to use two controllers at a time?

Most "fake" PS3 controllers I've tried work just fine with USB. As for bluetooth, a few of them seem to be close enough to the original that they might work, but most I've tried do not.

I'm not an expert on this, but as I understand PS3 uses a non-standard bluetooth connection and you can't exactly get the specs from Sony so it's bit of a trial-and-error thing to copy it. Some fake controllers I've tried are very close to connecting with the DS3 drivers but still fail, even though they work with
a PS3.

I do have a problem of my own - the left analog stick sometimes gets 'stuck' in the upper left corner although all the buttons work properly (running Windows 7 x64). This happens with both genuine PS3 controllers and fake ones, and it also happens with the (dreaded) motioninjoy drivers, so it's probably a windows problem of some sort. If anyone has experienced a similar problem or even happened to have a solution I'd love to hear it Smile It's a really weird problem since it's completely random - sometimes rebooting fixes it, sometimes it does not. Windows doesn't seem to change any drivers on it's own when this happens, I haven't got the slightest clue what might cause it.

I'm using an Intel PCI-Express Wifi+Bluetooth card in a desktop instead of a USB dongle. This is the same device as user Ashnal's from post #1970.

After troubleshooting bluetooth issues for a while, everything seems to be working well on version 1.1.0.308. Steam Big-Picture Mode and Castle Crashers were used for testing.

My main installation issues:
1. I had a few computer freezes immediately after running ScpDriver.exe, but this may be because I forgot to install the XBox360 controller drivers first. Installation would complete (logs reported no errors), and then my computer froze during new device installation. I was not reading the first post carefully enough to realize I needed the drivers first.
2. I installed the driver over the Intel drivers using the Zadig tool because the missing hardware ids.
3. 1.1.0.306 did NOT work because my bluetooth was not seen by the service (Monitor said "error"). After applying the 1.1.0.308 update, everything magically worked.

Thanks for the drivers! I'll report back if anything goes sour.

Hi there, I have the same hardware in my laptop. Can you tell me one by one what is the step?

UPDATE: I manage to get it to work but after restarting my laptop, It can't detect the DS3 anymore. How about you?
Hey guys, I'm trying to install the driver but it won't even start. seems to stem from OS detection? All I get is the log header and
Detected - Microsoft Windows 7 ultimate service pack 1 (6.1.7601.65536 x86)
Could not find a valid configuration

What's odd is that I have a 64 bit OS, and yes I'm certain I'm doing the "install" correctly. Makes no sense to me personally, but if hardware specs are needed I can post those. Anyway, can't force install or do anything, is there a way to force the OS to the same version but amd64? I suck at coding but I'm learning so I've got an ide if I could do it that way. Just wouldn't know what to change.

Any help on this one? Would seriously appreciate it, xbcd was easier :'(

My DS3 still connects after a restart. What does ScpMonitor.exe say? Is your bluetooth responding? Does your DS3 still work over USB?

Hi thanks for replying. It says host address thingy but no error and works totally fine when connected through USB. I guess because this is a built in bluetooth? But when I reinstalled the driver then it's good to go but still can't connect after restart.

What is your step to make it work?

UPDATE: It seems that the devil is my usb receiver for my mouse. I reinstalled the drivers back without plug in the receiver and used Zadig. It works fine now even after a restart but the only problem is that the Bluetooth toggled (on off switch) in my Windows 8.1 has been disabled. Does anyone knows how to fix this?

Which driver do you have to reinstall to get it to work? The Bluetooth driver?

Here is what my device manager looks like for reference. Does your bluetooth appear in USB devices after a reboot?
Hello. This driver works great so far, however I couldn't find a way to switch triggers and bumbers. In most cases having R1 to shoot instead of R2 is more convinient. I hope it's possible (it was on Motionjoy driver).
Please help.
