Great tool! However, my L3 has never worked. Not with motionjoy/better ds3 or this. R3 is registered as button10 so l3 should be button09. button11 the PS button isn't even displayed but I know it works because I've used it in steamos and with xbox360 drivers. My controller is a DS3-sixxaxis official with the v6 driver.

Hi
I just found out about this program (was using motioninjoy for several years now) and finally got it to work. Now, I read somewhere you didn't had to start any programs for this to work, my problem now is that I need to start the ScpServer.exe everytime to make my PS3 controller connect to the bluetooth, wich isn't that big of a deal, but what is annoying is that I can't even minimize that window to the system tray...
The program works great but if I have to keep that window up for the whole time I'm using the controller, that's just ridiculous. Am I doing something wrong here?
EDIT:
This is what the SCP Driver Installer shows:

There is nothing in install summary...Maybe this is the problem, but anyone know how do I fix it?
EDIT 2:
when I use force install I get this (wich still doesn't install the scp ds3 service)

Bus Driver
DS3 USB Driver
Bluetooth Driver
EDIT 3:
- SOLVED -
apperantly windows was still blocking the ScpService.exe file as I forgot to unblock it. I only tought you needed to do the ScpServer.exe for it to work. It works fine now xd
XInput is a MUCH better solution than Motioninjoy.
I would really appreciate it if someone could explain how to set up these drivers in really simple terms. I've tried to set them up before however I obviously didn't do it correctly since it didn't work. I'm running Windows 8.1 and I'm trying to connect my DS3 via a USB, no need for bluetooth as my DS3 only works whilst plugged in, I think the battery is gone. Thanks.

I've done a bunch of tests reinstalls and even redl'd vs redist. It detects every input but LEFT_THUMB here:

Same in the Profile Manager it does not detect L3.
In windows control panel - the button09 does not light up. I've disconnected a couple things to see if it would fix it. It hasn't. Please help.

So a while back i installed this driver. Followed all the steps and installed everything fine. The controller worked flawlessly. Then the other day i plug the controller in and its not working anymore. The lights blink and its being recognized as a PS3 controller again. I hadn't changed anything. I thought maybe i had to update to the newer version. Did that and still not working. All the requirements are met. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver several times. With bluetooth checked and without. Tried stopping and restarting the service. Tried reinstalling the older version. 1.0.0.103 or something like that. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the xbox 360 controller drivers. Nothing. It's just strange how out of the blue it isn't working anymore. Does anybody know if microsoft released some update that messes with this software?
You have the phantom devices also:

Same one as me which made it so my L3 doesn't work. I've noticed a lot of people who have problems have these phantom devices. I wonder what it is.
EDIT: After a good amount of fiddling around i've negated 1 phantom device.

Welp, I'm still at a loss for what to do here. I don't know what those phantom devices are either. And I don't remember whether or not they were listed in the install info when i first installed this software. Which was back in 2011 or early 2012. I think it was the very first version. But since then i had been using the controller fine via USB. Until a few days ago.
Anyway, i tried another uninstall/reinstall. Just a little bit differently this time. I reinstalled with the controller plugged into a back port on my PC. Instead of having two marked phantom device entries i got this:
INFO - Marked Phantom Device with Hardware/Compatible Id 'USB\VID_054C&PID_0268&REV_0100' for reinstall on next plug-in.
INFO - Phantom Device with Hardware/Compatible Id 'USB\VID_054C&PID_0268&REV_0100' already has 'C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ds3winusb.inf_amd64_neutral_15691982ca5c21ae\Ds3WinUsb.inf' installed on it.
That could be just a coincidence but i thought to just post it anyway.
I've solved my problem. It was a very simple fix actually. After hours of googling and page after page of this thread i finally found a suggestion that worked for me: a pinhole reset. With my controller plugged in via USB i did a pinhole reset. The ps3 controllers drivers reinstalled and windows asked for a restart. After coming back on, everything is back to normal. No more LEDs blinking. Just the one light on for pad 1.
Didn't do the trick for me. My L3s won't work and I still get phantom devbices. I did a pin reset with everything installed, uninstalled, some installed, some uninstalled, before after. Nothing.
