Hey man thanks very much for the reply, I will try it today and post the results tomorrow.
So this has been driving me INSANE for three days. I watched a video where a guy sets up the laptops bluetooth reciever to be used with this program via Zadig and I have tried to do the exact same thing with no success. I have administrative access, it tells me it is successful, hell I even get both SCP Monitor and SCPServer to show a host address, HCI Version, and LMP Version and yet the controller absolutely refuses to connect via bluetooth (the four lights just keep blinking once disconnected from the USB). I have tried and gotten a successful bluetooth install from SCPDriver, rebooted, had no success that way, tried Zadig both with and without rebooting and no luck still. The best I can get is Monitor and Server to show the addresses and versions, same with SCPPair however the controller does not want to pick it up. I am using a genuine Sony DS3 Controller, running Windows 7 with all updates (BT Driver is not being overwritten by Windows Update, so that is not the issue), and as for the version of the program I downloaded the latest version from the original post then dragged in the files from the "latest update" also linked on the original post. Both SCPDriver and Zadig tell me I am successful however I have had no actual success and I would very much like to not be tethered to my laptop via USB. I did a bit of digging (as much as is reasonable with 415 pages, I checked around 30 pages as well as anywhere Google linked to from searching a broad description of my problem) but I have come up empty. As far as my BT device is concerned it is Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 (The aforementioned video used Qualcomm Atheros AR3011 Bluetooth 3.0). Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

By the way... my fix wasn't in response to your issue. Unless your controller identifies itself as a PANHAI controller.
Please i'm having issues with my dualshock 3 sixaxis controller rumbling/vibrating over bluetooth. It works fine when connected via cable but the rumble stops when connected via bluetooth. Thank you in advance

This is a shot in the dark, but try using zadig using the ds3 preset when your controller is connected over USB. I had an issue a while back where windows decided to ignore my driver selection, which fouled things up. Also, a server log would be good. It would be useful to see how far along it is getting when trying to connect over BTH.
is this safe to use? i scanned the latest SCP-DS-Driver-Package-1.2.0.160

Sounds like you are unfamiliar with the concept of PUA (Potentially Unwanted Applications). Here is a link briefly explaining what PUA scanning is for and why you can pretty much ignore it. In this case it is Msvcpp which stands for Microsoft Visual C++ (C Plus Plus), which is one of technologies used in creating the source code. As far as I know, any project created using this IDE will be flagged with this PUA detection.

EDIT: Also keep in mind that 1.2.0.160 is NOT the current version. Please use the update process outlined in the first post.

EDIT2: This is the link I meant to post.

thanks for the help! yes, you are correct i am not familiar with any of this.

out of these 2 which one is the latest version? i am kind of confused

Download latest version here. [1.2.0.160]

Download latest update here. [1.2.2.175]

or do we download the latest version and then update it to 1.2.2.175?

I was watching this youtube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRFIqysSeD4

not sure if I should just follow the video or just download it from here and update it myself.
