This is normal. The driver overwrites your BT's previous driver and makes it only usable for the DS controller. That's why it's suggested to have a dedicated dongle for the DS.

Sorry. I wasnt clear enough. I meant that the controller doesnt pair with the laptop via bluetooth. I'm not trying to use my bluetooth for anything else.
I need to uninstall and force install the drivers again to pair the DS3 with my laptop's bluetooth every time I reboot.

Oh. There's a heck number of possible causes (SCP Service may not be on, BT drivers being overwritten, BT dongle not starting etc.). I'm not an expert on this but I've worked with the drivers enough to suggest the first thing you do is check what state the BT dongle is in after the restart.

Check it at Device Manager>Right-click>Properties. It should report OK.

Check if SCP Service is on. If it's reporting fine as well, time to check what the service is experiencing. Check the ScpService.log file in the folder of the driver or post it here so somebody can take a look.

That's all the advice I can give.

I have a built in Bluetooth hardware. Not a dongle. The "Bluetooth" listing disappears from the device manager page after I install the software. (I need to force install, or else the pairing with DS3 wont work.) I do get a "Bluetooth USB Host Controller" under "Universal Serial Bus Devices" though. But it says "This device is working properly" even after a reboot.
The SCPservice is on, it auto starts on startup. The USB connection works fine, only the bluetooth pairing fails.

I've been trying to get this working for at least 3 hours watching videos and reading through this forum and it's not working. It's not installing anything on the scpserver.exe and it's not uninstalling anything either. I've done everything I can and i dunno where to go from here. I'm stuck.

got it working. put the folder in program files rather than program files (x86)

I still cant figure out whats wrong.

Just noticed something strange. My dongle is actually in the supported list "USB\VID_0CF3&PID_3004" and yet I dont see the "bluetooth drivers" in the installed summary unless i check force install. Any idea whats going on?

I put the program under my user directory (C:\Users).

I already install all as instructions, DS3 using USB works great.
but when i tried to unplug USB DS3 and connect via blutooth, it can't.
bluetooth dongle not detected on scp monitor.
I use BT dongle V 3.0 HS + EDR,
Is there something misses when I installing?

i'm having an odd issue with bluetooth...

after playing about 40 minutes (sometimes less) i get this error message.



if i restart the service and reconnect the bluetooth dongle it goes back to "normal" and i can keep playing for about the same amount of time..

i'll appreciate any help
