Did post in another topic about if i could run FFX on a -

Intel Core 2 Quad 2.40Ghz
4GB
2x Nvidia 8600GS

Some said it should run fine, I'll average around 40-45ish fps with speedhacks enabled and titus runs around sort of like slow motion same with the battles.

But hopefully I might be getting a 9600GT and just wondering what find of performance gain's am I likely to expect?

Latest version of pcsx2 and everything is default as i've just installed it, except for I have speed hacks enabled and i've just lowered the Res and i've seen an increase in FPS to about 45-50, but when it comes to battles it drops back down to 40-45fps.

that video card takes priority as weakness of almost ALL games of pcsx2 due to weak video bandwidth

It's slowly dying, I've had it for 7 years and now during this week they've gave me 2 BSODs, that's why i'm upgrading, but i'm not much of a PC gaming so that's why i'm looking at a 9600GT (Because its really cheap to pick up)

Just wondering what type of benfits in terms of performance for PCSX2 i'll expect from it.
In games currently limited by GPU, you'll get some speedup, you'll probably also be able to play at x2 internal res in those games you must stick to native now, but don't expect too much. In games limited by CPU(if EE or GS % at the top of the window displaying the game reaches 100% that's the case) you'll see no difference in speed at all, through you'll still be able to get a slightly better internal res in them meaning nicer graphics.
Beaten the game with a slower CPU (A64x2 2GHZ) on 0.9.2 but had a faster GPU.
a GT works fine, GS is a bad card

most ppl. make sense that they believe the GS card is best for pcsx2 because based on acutal PS2's GS and as a GS plug-in and they are very cheap card but they making a great mistake about the GS card's bandwidth and it's GS's Gflops.
Sorry to be a pain again, I can get a GT 520 1gb for extremely low money, would it be better to get this or still try for the 9600GT?
