i have recently downloaded the newest version of PCSX2 and this is my first time configuring it and had help setting it up and when i try to play a game it tells me that the GS cant initialize or something of that sort and tells me that i need to download the newest version of DirectX when im running Windows Vista SP1 and have DirectX 10 installed....any help?
Actually, I had to update my directx when I first configured aswell. I dont really know specifics of why, but I do know that there were quite a few updates available and once I did that it worked no problem.

BTW, I am also running Vista. Try going ahead and letting it take you through the update process.
i tried that already and i just tried again but it gives me a downgrade to version 9.25.1476 and i tried installing that and restarting my computer which didnt work
You can't 'downgrade' your DirectX.The packs out there detect if you have a newer version and do not install if that is the case.Just download the latest DX runtime and install it.
Try this: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-E...able.shtml
Or even better, the web installer: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...6652CD92A3&displaylang=en
Thank You! what you said worked and now i can play...just gotta configure it a bit.
I got that redistributable, installed it, etc, but it *still* says I need to update! I've got directx 10, the latest redistributable, but yet I can't play any games Sad Any help is greatly appreciated!

If that didn't work, try the web installer:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?prd=11234&pver=Latest+DX+Web&plcid=0x409
That will detect what you're missing and install it

Yeah...tried the web installer, and it crashes with some error, and refers to two log files that I can't find...
Sounds about time for a format
