Kaze, I thought I also might mention something that may clear up some confusion for newbies such as myself who are jumping in for the first time and using your (quite honestly invaluable) guides.
When someone is trying to install 0.9.7 alpha and inputting command lines into terminal and typing things like ./pcsx2, they need to be aware that those command lines must match identically to what the names of the files actually are. I know it sounds silly but people may overlook this and just punch in ./pcsx2 over and over but the default name on 0.9.7 for the app is "pcsx2 0.9.7 Alpha" which results in that directory not being found. To work with the guide's command entry they would need to drop the 0.9.7 Alpha and just leave it as pcsx2.app.
Just wanted to throw it out there as a possible clarifier in the steps of the guide so as to alleviate some of the newb frustrations. Smile

I did just look up the error itself, and I found this info:

So it appears that something in the code is behaving in a strange way. Well, PCSX2 mac is super alpha quality, so maybe that is to be expected.

Sorry that I couldn't be more useful.

No problem man, much appreciated. Biggrin

I get this when trying to run an iso. Any help?

Hmmm

Should have nothing to do with your ISO

Thanks, added as a major note Smile

Thanks for thinking I am, but everything I know is mostly what more tech savy people has told me ;-)

This is an entirely different error.
What game is it?
(07-01-2012, 05:39 AM)xiipaoc Wrote: [ -> ]All right, so I downloaded the version for Lion today (which apparently was *released* today -- lucky me), and I fought with it for a while. It won.

First of all, if I start it from double-clicking, when I try to open a game, it'll give these errors:

Can't create log file logs/GSzzogl.log

GS plugin failed to initialize. Error Code: -1

OK then. So I follow the guide above and start it from XQuartz itself under tcsh root. Stuff actually happens! Amazing! I get "Plugins loaded successfully." in the xterm. So I try to actually open an .iso, and this happens:

The screen widens to a white 800x600, as per the configs, and the xterm spits out a bunch of success messages. Then, it flashes black and disappears, and the PCSX2 app itself disappears from the dock. The xterm says this, after a bunch of other stuff:

EE DECI2 Manager version 0.06 Feb 6 2003 08:38:48
CPUID=2e20, BoardID=0, ROMGEN=2004-0614, 32M

[rest of path that I won't include]/PCSX2.app/Contents/Resources/script: line 10: 63465 Abort trap: 6 ./pcsx2

That is... not informative. What's going on and how do I get this to work? This happens even when I try to run the BIOS without an .iso. What is the problem that I need to correct here?

Thanks so much!

Ohmy The same thing happens to me, and this is what I get:

Yeah.
But first, a question.
How is that even slightly the same error? >.<

And now for the advise:
Go read the first post, specifically the FAQ section. ^_^
Sorry, complete novice here... I don't know anything about programming, and I don't have much experience with emulators, so I apologize if any of this was already answered, but I couldn't make sense of some of it. I'll be being as detailed as possible for me so I don't miss anything important.
I'm using a 10.6.8 Mac Mini.
So I downloaded everything it said to download, and installed them, but I don't really know where they went? I have the files from pre-installation, but none of them went to my applications folder. I have X11 and xQuartz from when I first got this computer, but not the new ones I installed today. I have a feeling this has to do with some of my problems...
When I try opening pcsx2 directly (which I know I'm not supposed to do, I was hoping for it to miraculously work out) it pulls up the terminal and says:

Quote:cd "`dirname '/Volumes/PCSX2 0.9.7/pcsx2 0.9.7 Alpha.app/Contents/Resources/script'`"; cd pcsx2; clear; ./pcsx2; exit

When I try to open xQuartz (the one mentioned that's in my application folder already) it has a different icon than X11 but the application name in the bar at the top of the screen says it's X11.
When I try to open X11 and input things as the guide says (after manually moving the pcsx program from the downloads package to my application folder) it just says that it isn't in the library. I've tried all sorts of combinations, removing and adding .app from the end, deleting spaces that were in the original guide, and trying titling it both pcsx2 AND pcsx2 0.9.7 Alpha. (I did all this with the first guide in the ""xQuartz"" as well, with the same results.)

It feels like I've gotten stuck really early in the process. Do you have any ideas with what might be wrong?
Doesn't newer versions of PCSX2 Mac have an installer? Also, I would be willing to help you via Teamviewer/Skype if you want me too Smile

Now, for a breakdown of your post:

I don't think any of those are supposed to end up in your applications folder Smile

Good, it's supposed too Smile

This is the part that I need more information on, and preferably more screenshots. ^_^

I realized when trying to find what else to say that the system probably reads spaces as separations of commands, so I tried using underscores to replace the spaces in "pcsx2 0.9.7 Alpha". It yielded similar results.

I don't think it adds any new information.

Do you have suggestions of what I could bring up that would be helpful for you to gather information? Or just troubleshooting? Thank you a bunch for taking this time. I really appreciate it! I hope you have a nice day.
