I would like to note that during the time i attempted to play this game, i've encountered some problems.
1) Lines on the ground. Fixed by half pixel offset
2) Missing text in action menus. Only fixed with software rendering.
3) Missing icons for items. Only fixed with software rendering.
Discounting this issue, the game suffers from severe loading lag (which MIGHT benefit from the EE overclock hack?) which is normal, but the real head scratcher are the crashes. You heard me right. Sometimes, the game, COMPLETELY out of the blue and without prior warning, will crash the emulator. In the off chance it doesn't, it might freeze in its place during some action that causes the game to load something, like a menu or a new area. Sometimes loading back a savestate can circumvent it which i believe might point to some issue with the emulator itself, but i cannot verify this. The only thing i can advise you people is to save as often as every minute.
My status for this game would be "INGAME" considering how painstakingly long the game itself is and the incessant freezes/crashes it undergoes, i lost my patience playing this even though i loved it when i was younger due to its unique approach of the sims' gameplay.

You try "Fast CDVD" for the loading? E.G. Like CB:WOC has long loading which is fixed with that.

Yeah I always have that thing enabled. So far no game in my collection seems to be suffering from it so..

Game Title: The Sims 2: Castaway
PC Specs:
CPU: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core @ 4.0GHz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
Build Description: PCSX2 1.4.0 - Linux Ubuntu 18.04.1 64-bit
If other please specify: N/A
BIOS Used: USA v02.30(20/02/2008) Console
EE/VU Clamp modes: Normal/Normal
EE/VU Rounding: Chop/Chop
GSdx Settings: OpenGL Hardware, Native, Bilinear (PS2), Anisotropic filtering off
GSdx HW Hacks: Half-Pixel Offset
Speedhacks Used: Enable INTC Spin Detection, Enable Wait Loop Detection, MTVU, mVU Flag Hack,
Gamefixes Used: Half-Pixel Offset
Amount of testing done: much
Comments: Runs fairly okay but I experienced huge frame drops when I was in large open areas such as the jungles and the volcano. Overall its not very enjoyable to play as it runs at an average of 40 FPS and has massive frame rate drops constantly occurring throughout gameplay.
Bugs: Some images are missing from the crafting and skill menus. Health sidebar was glitchy and did not display properly.
