Hi, i admit i'm a bit of a noob at this, i'm trying to get Pcsx2 0.9.4 running on my computer, i have a game that is supposedly compatible, but it runs very slow and crashes after a minute, it also says in the DOS box, "cant find patch" etc, do i need to use a patch for each game? i dont know anything about patches. I have followed guides and im sure its configured correctly
Im using Vista and these are my specs
Processor: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz 2.20GHz
RAM: 2 GIG
System type: 32 Bit operating system
Im not sure what video card i have if i need to provide that i will have to be told how to find out!
SO.. im not even sure if my computer is compatible? from what ive read i probably have enough ram but my processor might not be sufficient?
Any info or advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated!
Right click on desktop > Personalize > Display Settings
Your video card is shown in the drop-down menu right under the picture of the monitor.
BTW, you're posting in the wrong forum. This section is only for the 0.9.5 beta of Pcsx2...

Does it look like the graphics card is the only issue? what about my processor, dual core is good but is 2.20 GHz enough? Any suggestions of what graphics card i should get that is compatible with my computer? and they are not hard to replace i have heard?
Thanks!
with your CPU, u should be able to run the emulator at 25-35 fps for 3D games, and 50-65fps for 2D games.
As for getting a new card, a Geforce 8600gt or anything above that will do fine on Pcsx2. You still won't be able to get full speed because of your CPU.
well, there's no point in buying a quad core cpu since pcsx2 doesn't support quad core yet, but it is useful for recording a video while playing.

Ok, sorry for this question.. but if my cpu is not sufficient there is no way of upgrading other than, getting a whole new cpu? so even with a good graphics card like the one you said most ps2 games are 3D arent they? and 25-35fps is only just playable or not at all?

and when you say cpu do you mean processor? so 2.20GHz arent sufficient? lol sorry for these noobish questions
Yes. A cpu is a central processing unit, or a "processor" for short.
