BIOS Used: USA v02.40(10/02/2006) Console

EE/VU Clamp modes: Normal/Normal
EE/VU Rounding: Chop/Chop

GS Windows: Ratio 16:9

Speedhacks Used:

Defaults/Preset 2, except MTVU (Multi-Threaded microVU1) enabled

Gamefixes Used:

Non-Automatic-
*Enabled Switch to GSdx software rendering when an FMV plays, to avoid thick grids in cutscenes/FMVs.
*Enable this only if the fixes below didn't work.

GSdx Settings:

*See attached Image.

SPU2-X:

XAudio 2 | Vol 35% | Latency 151ms (avg) | Async Mix

Comments:

*PAL and US releases have different voice actors, I personally prefer PAL as they speak in British accents, which I find adorable.
*I had External Shaders are enabled in all of the attached screenshots after the 4th one (FXAA, Bloom, Cellshading, etc).
*The Ext. Shaders also work in the real-time cutscenes (see images).
*Played in OpenGL Hardware mode, upscaled to 1440p (2560x1440).

*RUNS AT FULL SPEED

Bugs, Issues & Solutions:

*When upscaled, enabling the Unscale Point Line hack alone, in GSdx Settings > Enable HW Hacks,
might not work in fixing the black FMVs, so enable the Gamefix mentioned above.
*Highly noticeable mipmapping/texture flickering issues with distant walls/landmarks (see last attached screenshot), some levels are worse than others;
Can be lessened by setting the Skipdraw value to 4.
Becomes even worse in Direct3D 11/9 Hardware modes.
*There are a couple of minor graphical issues, such as black background in pause menu instead of a blurred transparent one.
On rare occasions, your stun club will glitch/garbage out in a big graphical mess, simply wave it to fix it.
*No other major issues, running in OpenGL Software mode pretty much has no apparent issues, with the exception of the mipmapping issues.

Comments:

Game seems to run at normal speed at a 50 fps solid

Bugs:

Game starts perfectly and runs great until game play starts then i get red stripes across the screen (and if you fiddle enough with settings you get part green ones as a bonus Smile ).

additional testing done:

1. tried switching to software renderer which removes the lines but game becomes unplayable (like 2 fps a second in the best case)
2. enable several game hacks (including all game hacks but that clearly breaks pcsx2  Blush  yes I did do that on purpose to see what would happen )
3. disable 8 bit textures - no change
4. disable shaders - no change
5. use Europe bios v02.00(14/06/2004) and bios Europe v01.60(04/10/2001)- no change either

If more testing is required I have some free time on my hands for the next 2 months so just give me a shout.
Uh, what game is this? I think you forgot to add the title Smile

Also, download the latest git build here and then try adjusting your CRC hacks or switching to the OGL renderer: http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/index.php?m=rev-v1.5.0
Ah seems someone isn't paying attention.
this is need for speed most wanted black edition (SLES_538.57)

I shall go download and test with the new version.
Tested with version v1.5.0-dev-2002-gc115a4c (or the newest available).

red stripes are gone in hardware and software mode
I do have some weird shadow/light casting going on see attached screenshot (those square black and semi white are not supposed to be square) .
and I noticed that the auto flush hack costs me around 25 fps (that 50%)

oh forgot to mention:

status on v1.5.0 is now playable (thorough test will be done later after sleep)
BTW the crc code is CRC: 805C3B3A
Did you try adjusting the EE/FPU rounding/clamping and/or the VU rounding/clamping to see if it fixes the issue?

Edit: Looks like it might be a sprite issue with GSdx.
yes tried all options but no difference
OK, can you submit a bug report here when you get a chance Smile https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/issues

hope I done it right (first time using git but tried to be as verbose as possible).

Comments:

Works in OpenGL HW and all SW modes. Only dx9 and dx11 HW modes cause the vertical bars across the screen. All menus work, but the races have the vertical bars effect. Major slowdowns in the game even though EE% is not high. Sometimes the cars squish in the preview
