Has anybody tried running PCSX2 on an Ivy Bridge processor yet? Mainly an i7? Curious how it runs, especially compared to the Core i7 920 Nehalem.
there is about 15-20% max increase in performance CLOCK FOR CLOCK

yes it's already been tested http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-CPU-Bench...d-on-FFX-2

however an I7 is the same as I5 but it have HT the second only difference is Clock and Turbo ...
I'm running PCSX2 1.0 on an i5 3570K and it runs great.

I've tried SotC, GT4, The Getaway and Rez.
All of them run flawlessly (or almost flawlessly, but none of them have framerate issues).
Nice. I was thinking about waiting for Haswell, but think I'll jump on Ivy Bridge instead!
NO WAIT for Haswell the improvement in Ivy bridge doesn't worth it at all !!!

only 5% of Sandy but 50% more Price

Wait for Haswell and we may get BCLK OCing Smile
In my opinion, if buying right now and picking between a Sandy or an Ivy, and there is no price difference, go Ivy. It's 10-15% better in most tasks (not sure about PCSX2 specifically though), so definitely worth it in that scenario. But if you can get a Sandy for $50 to $100 cheaper, go Sandy.

If you want to wait another year, and get more performance and possibly another price increase, go Haswell.
i certainly will be waiting until past haswell, i spent enough money on this i7 (1st gen) i cant fathom throwing it away :C

so am i in this Cheap Clarkdale Intel please warn us if your next generation will be kicking ...
If you're on a i7 920 currently, I would wait for Haswell. Simply overclock the Nehalem a bit for comparable performance to Ivy.
