Software is Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 i hope it has nothing to do with that.
Do you (as user) have write access to the folders? If not the case you could try giving direct access to your user to them or include it in a group which has.

Sometimes the access rights issue is extended to the external media itself, if that's the case.
I am also having the same problem. I checked the permissions (ls -l in the terminal) of directories and files of those directories. I have read, write, and execute permissions on all of them. It's not making sense why this error is occurring. Anybody have ideas?

Silly me, I was trying to run it from the .dmg. Lol
@OP~ Check the Applications folder to see if there's a PCSX2 folder in there.
I am having the same "Portable mode error" problem however I have no clue what you guys are talking about. I've just moved out and sadly had to leave my consoles behind but have gained a big shiny mac.
i clearly don't know how to use it well...

how do I change this?:

If you don't own the console, then you (technically) don't own the right to use the BIOS.
Move back Laugh.

I do own it and a WHOLE bunch of games however, I don't want to spend anymore money or have the room space for a TV. But not to worry, I should probably spend my free time on more study.
thanks anyway.
