What would you need to record at 1920*1080 with no compression using the internal video recorder. I just recorded the ps2 startup on an amd e-300 and my frame rate dropped from 60fps down to 5fps and i ended up with a 3.15Gb file after capturing for 15 seconds. So my question is wouldn't you need a RAID 0 setup using only ssd's to get full speed when capping.

I dunno, but my rig gets about 20fps at 1440x900 with internal recorder.

I can record most games at full speed with FRAPS though.

I wish I had enough for FRAPS right now.

I bought it quite a few years ago to record FFXI.

Have you tried any of the free video capture programs?
Nope, I have not found any that looked that looked that good but if you have any suggestions that would be great.

Only suggestion is google, I've only really used FRAPS.

I've heard Bandicam is good though. Free version can record up to 10 minutes but has a watermark(e.g. it says something like "Recorded with bandicam" at the top).

Edit: actually here is an example of their watermark from the bandicam site:

Hmm that looks interesting.
Dxtory is another good one. Just got it not too long ago, it's better than Fraps to me. Lots of options.
Thanks for the suggestions I will be sure to test them out and see what works.
