Hello Everyone,
I'm having some issues running Dark Cloud 2 on PCSX2. I have no problem on the menus but cut scenes lag and when I get to the combat part it gets even worse. My system specs are:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
ASUS M2A-VM Mobo
AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 4400+ 2.30 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT
3 GB ram
If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. What version of PCSX2 should I use and what settings should be applied? Also if a version of PCSX2 is given preferably a link to download it would be appreciated.
Your machine is too slow. That's all there is to it. Try setting EE cyclerate hack to 3 and VU cycle stealing to 1 maybe, but i doubt you are gonna get that game playable on that rig. Sorry.

You should use version 1.2.1

Yep, I have an old rig with the same cpu and there is no chance of running that game well.

I would recommend upgading.
Yea but I don't understand why it only slows down during the combat. I'm fine with the cut scenes having a little bit of lag but the combat lag makes it hard to play. What exactly do I need to upgrade then? I have a AMD Athlon x2 dual core processor 6400+ like 3.1 GHz processor and it says it works with my motherboard but I can never get it to work which is weird because its pretty much the same as the one I currently have just a little better.

You need a complete upgrade. Those cpu's are horribly outdated.
Yeah you need a full upgrade. It slows down in combat because the Emotion Engine is doing more.
Well Nobbs66 I think your right but I don't got the money right now to do that. When I do I'll make sure to see what you guys think. But thanks to Donovan24 and Blyss Sarania I have it going pretty much like it is on ps2. Even on ps2 it was a little laggy and slow anyways. I had to bump up VU cycle stealing to 3 but I got no less than 43fps during that opening combat scene. So far I'm pretty happy. I know either way emulators are slow. I have the Visualboy and DesmumeDS emulators are their requirements are far less and they still lag. Thank you guys very much if there is anything you can think of that may help me please don't hesitate to say anything.
You could always try to overclock, every increase of your clock speed will increase your FPS.

Those cpu's oc like crap. Not really going to gain much performance.
