Anything I can do to get this game to run faster? When I boot it up, the fps drops to about 15-20.
Please give us your computer specs, your PCSX2 version and any non-default settings.
Intel I5-3230m @ 2.6GHz
8GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 740M

I'm using version 1.2.1 r5875, 64 bit. As far as I know, I'm not using any particular nonstandard settings. THe only thing I took off default was the controller plugin, and doubt that that's the problem.
Make sure you're running on high performance power settings and that you've connected your laptop to the wall socket. If that doesn't help your performance enough, try enabling MTVU hack and playing around with the speedhack sliders, but don't go too crazy with those or it'll report false FPS.
No real change with MTVU and lower settings, higher settings on VU cycle stealing improved it, but still slowdown. EE cyclerate helped at 2(still some slowdown) but 3 messed up the audio to no other effect. I set my computer to high performance and checked the plug, too. It's still laggy, but overall less so. Anything else I can do?

What are your EE and VU percentages when a slowdown occurs? It's shown in the title bar when in windowed mode.
EE and VU both were in the area of 20-30%, and GS was around 70-80%. FPS was around 45, but I'm uncertain how reliable that is, considering the above comment and how high I set the sliders.

And VU?
20-30% as well.
So I made sure my good graphics card was using it, and set the graphics plugins to DX11. I also set it to frameskipping 2. The results are:
FPS:Genarally 40-55, sometimes a little higher or lower.
EE:20-30%
VU:20-30%
GS:100%
Any more I can do, or is just my computer at this point?
