I have looked at a few videos but they seem outdated on youtube on the best settings to achieve full throttle of pcsx2.
Can anyone give me a more updated link/guide?
system
windows 8.1
a8 quad core
8gb ram
amd radeon HD 8510G
catalyst set to performance
Things I always have in background
xpadder
internet download manager
antivirus disabled
firewall off just in case these affect it
I am looking to just maximize w.e necessary to reach the most fps I can achieve for
dot hack series
dark cloud 1 & 2
I do not care about graphics so if I lose any its worth it
Currently under some settings I could reach 44-57fps in dark cloud but it flux's instead of staying more towards 58-60
videos drop it to 45ish the whole time a video plays but I afk while a video runs its course (or I cant skip)
If I just cant obtain what I am after its fine
All help is appreciated

can you explain? im a derp sometimes lol
if you mean when in play
ee 60+% gs 40-58% and it dropped to 29-31fps (probably because im running another program in background atm
worse case senario i can always let someone tv my settings n try to set them up correctly idk... but it just would be nice to play lol
Are you using a DVD or an iso?
I don't know which instruction set is supported by your cpu but try to use the highest available for gsdx
-> gsdx-sse2 is worst, gsdx-sse4.1/avx best
Are you using the software renderer or the hardware renderer in gsdx plugin settings?
If you are using the software renderer I would set extra rendering threads to 3 or 4 and than slowly increasing this number. If you have 16 threads running in parallel, communication between those can slow you down...

currently have other programs off now
i set to dx9 hardware
switched to avx
set ee cyclerate to 3
set vu cyclerate to 3
and its an iso
currently at
37 - 39 fps
ee 56-69%
gs 55-65%
the lower i set the ee and vu the lower the frames drop
setting both ee cycle rate & vu cycle stealing will most probably bring worse results.
what is your exact cpu model ?

do not open any program. pcsx2 is cpu and gpu demanding
