I installed pcsx2 on my Mac and followed an online tutorial. The program will open but when I go to boot the system the program crashes.

That's a generic crash. Mainly:
The version of zzogl is causing problems, try to reinstall pcsx2/mac from package again and install the 0.21 zzogl plugin
