CPU: intel core i7-4960hq @ 2.60ghz

GPU: Nvidia Geoforce GT 750M

RAM: 16 GB

Model: Macbook Pro Late 2013

Bootcamp version: Windows 8.1

I was hoping that someone had a similar model and could offer some suggestions.

use mtvu and try using other recommended speedhacks. if you are using sw mode then, set +3 rendering threads

Which game? Which pcsx2 version?
What are GS% and EE% readings during slowdowns?

that processor will be good for some moderate demanding games but, it will perform little worse in high demanding games like gow2 and soc.so, you will be safe with some lesser (or) moderate demanding games but, just in case report the games you want to play as willuker said.
