Hi

I'm french, sry if my english is very bad Blush
I have questions for you Smile

I would like a new PC but I hesitate.
For me Intel => Glare
But the Core 2 Duo is better than Phenom.
In AM2+ Socket, the Phenom II X3 710 is a good challenger for the E7400 of Intel.

1/ I know if I have à Core 2 Duo PCSX2 it's OK but if I have a Phenom II X3 ?
I thinks Phenom II X3 710 after overclock reasonable => 3.4/3.5Ghz

2/ PCSX2 support X3 core and X4 ?

3/ CG ATI HD4830/HD4850/HD4870 it's ok or Nvidia is realy better ?

Please simple réponce.

Thanks
Bye
I guess any processor will do as long as it supports SSE2 instructions as a minimum, of course, the more Ghz it has the better Smile

PCSX currently supports 2 cores maximum. Any more will be unused.

These will work of course, but many users reported nvidia cards providing better results. You should aim for the card which supports DX10 on a hardware level.
easy answer
1 it'll be ok. AMD 3.5GHz ~ E8400 without overclocking
2 Na-ah.
3 Doesnt matter
1.IF U HAVE ENOGH MONEY I SUGGEST U BUY i7 WITH DDR3, BUT IF YOUR
MONEY IS NOT ENOUGH THAN PHENOME II IS OK, I SUGGEST U BUY
PHENOME II WITH DDR3 VERSION NOT DDR2 VERSION.
2.PCSX ONLY SUPPORT 2 CORE THAT'S ALL
3.NOW NVIDIA GTX 2XX VERSION IS BETTER FOR SINGLE CHIPS, FOR
DOUBLE CHIPS ATI 4870X2 CAN BEAT NVIDIA GTX, OF COURSE
DIFFERENT CLASS, MAYBE SHOULD COMAPRE WITH NVIDIA GTX 2XX X2
IF THERE IS EXIST. U CAN SEE THE BENCHMARK RESULT ON
www.futuremark.com (3DMARK), SEE THE ORB RESULT.
4. LAST TOO PLAY PCSX2 U MUST HAVE GOOD PROCESSOR AND GOOD VGA
CARD.

Hy

Thanks every one.

Uncuing,
Core 7 is very very expensive.
The AM3 socket (chipset AMD 790FX/GX) it's very expensive, the double of AM2+ (chipset 780G)

Who's garphic card Nvidia is the minimum (+30FPS) for PCSX2 ? 9600GT ?
Who garphic card ATI is the minimum for PCSX2 ?

Thanks

Bye
Graphics card doesn't really matter that much. But a powerful card will allow you to use higher d3d resolutions, what make the games looks even better. 8600GT should do fine for minimum, but 9600GT is also cheap, so why not ? It works great for me.

@uncuing: Can you turn the CAPS LOCK OFF ??!
If you are going to overclock might as well get the Phenom 720Smile

And if you really like going overboard try unlocking your 4th coreSmile

OF course IF you know how.

Next time you post in all caps, I warn you for spamming.
Hi

Thanks every one.

The Phenom 720 "isn't really better" than 710, if you have a good motherboard (support big FSB)
For the 4th core => Advanced clock calibration = > chipset AMD 790FX/GX => In France minimum 120€ (155$)
Chipset 780G no advanced clock calibration but cost 60/80€ (77/103$)
Who's graphic card ATI is equivalent 9600GT in PCSX2 ?

Thanks

Bye
I think it is between 4670 to 4830.

4670 is a wee bit weaker but cheaper and 4830 is stronger than a 9600GT
