Hi All!

I am buying a new rig but want your input before pulling the trigger. The main goal is to play any and all PS2 games with no lag. I plan on playing games at 4x IR with no AA! Thoughts?

PSU is pretty overkill tbh.

Can't say anything about the video card but what game you can't play currently at 4x
Compared to my i7 4771,your cpu is a little bit slower(acourding to the sites I check)but that's on default speeds and I can go up to 3.9ghz but you are currently on 4.7ghz.

I don't think you'll get much difference between your current cpu the one you think to get

That PSU would help in sustaining the load on overclocking but, it would be still advisable to get a cheaper PSU and get a unlocked haswell I7.

The rig in my current sig recently died so I am playing all my games on this laptop....which is maddening when you came from a great rig.

I'd cough up ~30 more bucks for this.

That's a locked CPU. You won't be able to OC that. It's worse than the 4690k in comparison.

Why would you need a full tower for all this? Unless you plan to upgrade to a different mobo and 4 GPUs in the future, that case is overkill. It's gonna take up an enormous amount of space and you won't have anything to fill it up with. Get either a mini or a middle tower case.

And as said, that 850W PSU is TOO MUCH. The way things are going, thinking you're future-proofing sounds naive considering we
're reaching a point where performance grows and consumption drops. If you really have to go above and beyond what you have, 600W should be your max for a system with just one GPU.

I think fix those things and you'll see an extra buck in there to improve other components.

EDIT: I just remembered that some GTX 970 models have been susceptible to electronic whine. Do check whether the model you've picked is one of those.

I have the HAF 932 myself and honestly loving it. Even with new hardware I'll be able to use this case in the future.
