Hi guys, I have a question about CPU utilization.

I have an Intel i3 2350m (2.3 ghz dual core) and an AMD 7670M. I know, it's a miracle I can emulate anything at all. I can emulate JRPGs, but I get slowdowns periodically. The thing is, even in Star Ocean, CPU utilization never goes over 40%. I know that even at 100% utilization my CPU is weak, but I'm wondering if having better utilization would help with the slowdowns? They occur both in Directx11 hardware and OpenGl modes.

So is there a way to increase the CPU utilization, maybe I'm doing something wrong?
did you set your power plan to high performance ?
Yes. I even changed the priority to realtime in the task manager.
did you try to monitor your temps while playing ?
your CPU may be throttling down because of overheating. it's very common on laptops.
Well, the slowdowns start occuring after 1 minute of playing, I doubt that the CPU can get so hot as to throttle down so quickly. But it's possible, I'll look into it. I thought that there may be something I can do via PCSX2 itself to increase the utilization.
apart from increasinf the numbre of extra sw rendering threads, no.
And it'll work only in software mode.
Oh okay then, you can delete the thread then.
