As you can see from my signature my computer is plenty powerful and I can run most games at 1080p60 barring the games everyone has issues with. In WipEout Fusion the menus are fine (it doesn't look pretty though) but when I started a race it was really sluggish. I'm running all recommended speed hacks with moderate VU cycle stealing. In the plugin settings I have all hardware options activated with FXAA, FX shading and 4xMSAA.
what do the ee% & gs% say when you get slowdowns ?
care to post the emulog.txt ?
How does it run with MSAA turned off? It should run quite a bit smoother.
EE=~80%
GS=60-70%

Dropping the MSAA didn't help.
Cpu bottleneck? That 8350 at stock doesn't have a high STP and this game might be demanding

Looks like you're CPU limited. PCSX2 only uses 2-3 cores and needs a lot of single core speed. Unfortunately that's not the FX series' strong suit. You can try overclocking. Other than that all you can do is turn up the speedhacks more.

edit - Actually, try MTVU if you haven't yet.
How are fps, ee and gs and vu values without vu cycle stealing and trying both en and disabling mtvu ? What happens if you try ee cycle rate hack?
I already use MTVU and I don't see how disabling it will help. Without VU stealing and EE cycle rate at 3 the FPS is about 20. I'm using all of the toggle speedhacks.
So you use ee cycle rate hack and vu cycle stealing and mtvu? Well goodbye to a precise fps counter.

For some games mtvu is a slowdown or gamebreaking. If you disable the slider hacks and your ee is close to 100% you should consider over clocking. That's why I asked for the information. But whatever...
It WAS the MTVU, case closed! I get a solid 50fps now. It's a strange way to go wrong.
