When my pad disconnects from being inactive or I close PCSX2, the emulator won't recognize my controller despite the settings not changing.

it doesnt recognize at all or it doesnt show up as the same controller?

Please screenshot first and second tabpage of lilypad before restarting (while it works) and after restarting/reconnecting (when it breaks).

The OP is probably using 1.2.1 or an older git build that doesn't support hot plugging controllers.

Ok found out it was a controller problem rather than a problem with PCSX2, long story short I let a friend borrow the controller and now the d-pad is unresponsive. I dug out one of my old 360 controllers and it worked fine. Thanks for the help though.
