There is a weird issue with Persona 4 when running it in D3D11: in some scenes the background elements (not just individual textures) will "flicker sideways". See the attached video file. This hallway is the absolute worst I've seen so far. Other times it's just been something I saw out of the corner of my eye, but this scene drags on for so long, and was so blatant, that I can't choose to unsee it anymore.

I've tried different settings, texture filtering on/off, 8 bit textures on/off, Alpha on/off, MTVU on/off, all the different interlacing settings, and none of those seem to make any difference. With D3D11, the only thing that makes a difference, is swithing to native resolution, but of course that's no fun.

When I run D3D9 or OpenGL, the problem goes away, but then I get the thin black line above the character portraits when they speak. THAT problem goes away if I disable texture filtering - I will try the game out for a bit and see if it is very noticeable. If not, I can run the game this way, I just thought the issue might be of interest to the powers that be Smile

Edit: Hm, seems video file attachments are not allowed. If a developer wants to view my video, PM me and I'll send a Dropbox public folder address.
One quick test later: Nope, both D3D9 and OpenGL mess up the character shadows to a point where it is worse than my original problem :-(
Link me the video. It's not been long since I played P4 in PCSX2 and I had nothing like this.
Done.
Yeah that's definitely not normal.

What version of PCSX2 are you using? I wish to make a test to see if I can reproduce that or if it's something on your end setting wise.
Using regular 1.2.1 from the "downloads" page on the site.
Just uploaded a savestate file from that point in the game to the same Dropbox location.
Well a save state is useless because savestates save errors too, but I have a memory card with saves in various areas so it should be no big deal.

However if you are using 1.2.1 I don't need to check - it doesn't do it for me. I already know.

First try updating to the latest GIT build from http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2

Then load from a memory card save and see if the issue persists. If it does we'll go from there.
Ok - will do that later today.
Ok, I just downloaded and installed this version: v1.3.1-1540-gb1d7f0e, the top one in the list, and the problem seems to have gone away completely. So that seems fine, I can run the game in 1.3.1, but I'm still curious what caused my issue. Do I have a faulty PCSX2 1.2.1 install? Could there be weird Nvidia driver issues?

Also - there seems to be no options for FXAA in 1.3.1, and anisotropic filtering is greyed out?
