so, i started playing Tales of the abyss recently but i noticed that there are some horizontal black bars that's like a filter on the screen. (makes the screen a little more darker)
it's most noticeable on bright places.
sometimes when i load, it forms horizontal and vertical lines that makes a lot of boxes on the screen.
this problem didn't occur on my old asus laptop too.

I've tried using different resolutions (native, x2, x3, etc), but the problem still persists.

start by upgrading pcsx2.

i'm currently downloading the full installer, is there some kind of patch that i can use instead?

thanks anyway, switching to 1.4 seems to have fixed the problem.
