This thread is not a bug report thread, so I think I could post here.
I reported this a year ago : http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Resolved-...+Awakening
The thread is marked as resolved with OpenGL (Hardware) with basic blending.

But no, I can't set the plug-in as OpenGL to play games. pcsx2 will crash.

A whole year has passed, this problem has been ignored for a year. Even DirectX9 can't render the game correctly.

Result from pcsx2-v1.5.0-dev-1310-gb91bd3e-windows-x86

Expected result from pcsx2-v1.3.1-540-gab6f26f-windows-x86 (The last build before official release that worked - The game should be like this)

With later build, the game become even worse. Now the cutscene is not showing

What is your GPU & drivers? OpenGL ought to work, except on Intel GPU that are only supported for 1 year by Intel.
Yes, my GPU is Intel HD 5500 (Intel Core i5 5200u - Notebook PC)
The problem hasn't been ignored for a year as you say. It is fixed in OGL hardware mode(as you also say). Your lack of ability to run said mode is because of what gregory said - Intel's lack of support for their anything more than fresh off the production line GPUs. What's being ignored is your GPU by Intel.
Hum, did you try to update your GPU driver ? And what do you mean by crash ?
Otherwise boot on linux. The open source driver works great. You can even run PCSX2 on a sandy bridge GPU...
For crashing, idk, maybe I used the wrong word.

Since it says : failed to find {OpenGL function names} it's actually not the pcsx2 that crashes, but the plugin.

And it maybe true that Intel has been ignoring it, but I think pcsx2 development team are ignoring on updating DirectX plugins too.

Despite the games I play are old, many of them and other emulators run on Windows. I would love to use Linux if they're all available on Linux like Ubuntu. But I think this is not going to happen.

It isn't a crash. It is only a report that you driver is *****. OpenGL 4.5 was released in August 2014 (2 years old). Intel sells their GPU as openGL compliant, you paid for it. If nobody complains, they will never change.

Unlike Intel which is 100K person company with billions of $. PCSX2 team is only few guys working for free. Last but not least Dx doesn't support all the openGL features.

OpenGL is cross-platform, it works for everybody except Win-Intel users (because Intel doesn't bother to release a working driver) and Mac users (because Apple doesn't want cross-platform). I'm sorry for them, but limited driver => limited Gsdx. Note that recent GPU (skylake?) might work with GSdx.

Older Haswell GPU's also work. Tongue2 Compatibility seems very inconsistent.
OoO maybe the driver isn't up to date.
