Hey everyone!
I have just a quick question with my processor of my computer.
Right now I am running an AMD 64 X2 4200+ that runs at 2.3GHz.
I can run games like FFX and Disgaea just fine. When it comes to Kingdom Hearts, it runs fine at times, but then there are times when it slows down to 10-15fps.
I've ordered a newer processor for my computer. It's an AMD 64 X2 6000+ that runs at 3.0GHz.
If I use this processor, will I notice anymore slowdown when I am running games? I've played KH and Dragon Quest 8 and it can run so slow at times that I cannot play them. FF12 was also kind of choppy, so i wonder will this newer processor help me out...

AMD 64 X2 Windsor 3.0GHz
GIGABYTE GA-M57SLI-S4
mushkin 4GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 Dual Channel

Unfortunately it seems to be the general consensus that PCSX2 performs better with an Intel cpu under the hood instead of an AMD. That doesn't mean you won't achieve playable framerates with an AMD. It's hard to say whether or not you'll get slowdown; I would say you'll still experience some slowdown, but it won't be as intense given it's a pretty nice boost of .7ghz of processing power.
It will be better, pcsx2 lives by cpu mhz essentially. Those 15fps moments may just turn to 20fps moments though..
With some speed hacks you should be able to play your games fine though
This is a pretty general question, since each game is unique in the way it is emulated, some need some hacks to boost them up, different plugin settings in general to get the result you want. If you tell us the exact settings you use, maybe we can figure out what can be improved in your current settings...

it might still get slowdown in addition AMD 64 X2 stays up to SSE2 best to pick the intel processors neither "wolfdale" or "penryn"
although has the best instuction set

that 9600GT has 2 attributes like the gddr2 and gddr3.
best to pick the gddr3 version of 9600GT.
Optional recommendation:
why not try the new arrival of nvidia card the GTS250 and it's not pretty expensive just around $179 compare to high-end's GTX295 at around
$553
*the GTS250 has a bandwidth of 256-bit and gddr3 as well
The 6000+ is meh
E5200 is 2.5GHZ is better.. In everything.. lol
Get the GTS250.. It's equal to 9800GTX/8800GTX/4850..

dont bag on his hardware...give constructive advice that he asked for. switching to anything intel would mean him upgrading his mobo as well.
and theres nothing wrong with the 9600, hes not even looking to upgrade it from what i can tell.

No.. I meant. the performance increase from 4200 to 6000 isn't worth it, he can return under item not needed..
The 9600GT is fine..

Yeah, but your talking about a $300-$400 upgrade, having to switch out the Mobo, processor and the memory, plus also having to reinstall XP after switching set mobo out. it's too much of a hassle.
