Full Version: Garbled blocky screen for Growlanser 2

Hello,

Growlanser 2 is giving a block-permuted screen - it looks like it is drawing pieces of the screen in the wrong order; see the attached screenshot for details. The screenshot is in-game, but the introduction and menu are similar. Except for the Growlanser logo, all text is unreadable and doesn't appear even in a permuted fashion. I have tried the game with the CD in the drive, and have ripped an ISO to try running off of that.

I am using the official PCSX2 0.9.6 binary. I have tried the ZeroGS Playground OpenGL 0.96.7 graphics plugin, and several versions of the sticked fork. I have tried many combinations of the graphics hacks, changing the Interlacing options, speed hack settings, disabling the recompiler, with and without bilinear, etc.

My computer is an HP Pavilion a6452f PC:

I have swapped out my video card for a Geforce 9800 GTX+, and I am using Kubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) 64-bit instead of Windows Vista. I upgraded my OS from 8.10 instead of installing new, but other games have worked and I've seen no indication that it should cause a problem with PCSX2. My driver version is NVIDIA 180.51, configured to use Twinview for my separate monitors.

Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this problem?
First, turn of all videocard 3d options -- set it to default if it's possible. Then download the new shader's file from me (shader file is http://sanechka.spb.ru/svnroot/ruslan/ze.../ps2hw.dat), copy it in bin/plugins over older one and try again. I hope it will work.
Ah, thanks - that fixed it. There are some minor flickering issues, but the game seems quite playable.

Thanks for your help, and for your great plugin. Smile
