Check this site:

There is very little difference as far as how Vista and Win7 handle drivers and the like as far as I know, so anything that works for Vista should work for Win7

I know this thread is a bit old, but I finally found the website that detailed the instructions on how I got my PS3 Controller working on my Vista64 system, and this should work for Win7 64 bit, too.
http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/show...p?t=140836
The instructions are detailed for an iPod, but it will actually work for any USB device you are trying to use with a 64 bit windows OS.
After you have the USB filters installed, you then need to get this program to actually activate your controller:
http://rapidshare.de/files/40942846/sixaxis64.exe.html
After you have everything installed, (be sure to get a tool to automatically set Windows to disable driver signature enforcement or else you WILL have blue screen crashes! I use ReadyDriver Plus) make sure you have your PS3 controller plugged in. Then follow these steps:
Run sixaxis64
Press your PS button
Run sixaxis64 again
Then go into your control panel>game controllers and test to make sure all the buttons work.
Hope this helps some people out there!
