My ps2 broke Sad.
Yes it can. Smile
Just hope you dumped your Bios before it broke, else, you won't be able to use pcsx2
Insert PS2 disc into DVD drive, cooperating with appropriate Cdvdrom plugins.

but I can tell it's slower in game speed, I always make an disc image onto harddisk to play with.
Okay when I put in a burned copy of my game it says please enter a ps2 disc. then checked to see what would happen if I opened the cd file through my computer but there were no files; my non burned games, however, have huge files located in the cd. Is it possible that the files in my burned game got erased?

I just tested with another burned cd. My second burned cd had all its file but my first burned cd's files were missing. What could have happened. Before my ps2 broke, I used this cd to play all the time.
Discs deteriorate over time from use, this might be why the files doesn't show up, as the disc might not be recognized properly by your OS. And low quality burnable discs deteriorate even easier than high quality.

You need to configure a cdvd plugin to use your dvd drive.
The disc is fine, some games dvd contents don't show up in windows.

Okay i tried using the gigaherz cdvd plugin already and I got the red screen
PEOPS CDVD v1.3.0 doesn't work for me, it always says something like erom not found. So what cdvd plugin should I use?
Cdvd gigaherz is fine. But make sure you configure it to use your dvd rom drive letter!
Once that's done, try File>Run CD/DVD.
Well I set it to F (my dvd drive), now I get the memory card section.

How do I tell if my game is a cd or dvd?

If it matters its a burned copy of Shadow of the Colossus.
